Printmaking and the Leather Matrix

For two years we’ve been working to develop relief printmaking techniques from tooled leather.  The experiments have ranged from small to large each with a differing degree of success.

Our home-built flat press for small relief prints, which was used for printing the “Prairie Spring,”  and Annalisa Campbell’s Takach roller press for the larger prints below.

 

Jumped ship a bit to make a woodblock print for the Artspace at [Untitled] steam roller print festival.
